Views, Views, Views!

First, besides the interesting architecture, Skybridge condos are known for their amazing views of Chicago.

East facing units feature spectacular skyline views of the city while west facing units enjoy amazing sunsets over the sprawling western portion of the city.

Award Winning Architecture

Next, Skybridge was designed in the Modernist style by Ralph Johnson of Perkins and Will also known for designing O’Hare Airport’s International Terminal.

Moreover, the building won the American Institute of Architects’ 2003 National Honor Award.

We love the sleek Modernist design of Skybridge condos. For instance, the building actually looks like two slender towers linked by a daring glass bridge at most levels.

In addition, besides just being cool, the design is practical in that it allows most units to enjoy multiple exposures making for brighter living even on overcast Chicago days.

Located at 737 W Washington (original address was 1 N Halsted) in the West Loop, Skybridge condos for sale didn’t initially fit in with the low and mid-rise loft buildings in the neighborhood. In fact, given its height it was a tad controversial to say the least.

Even today it remains the tallest building in Chicago west of 90/94. That said, with all the construction in the area over the past 15 years, Skybridge condos is no longer standing tall by itself as other high rises have been built or are currently under construction nearby.

Excellent West Loop Location

And finally, regardless of how you call it – Skybridge Condos, 1 N Halsted or 737 W Washington, the building is well-located in the eastern portion of Chicago’s West Loop. From here everything great about the city is within reach.

For instance, many residents walk to work in nearby Downtown Chicago, West Loop or Fulton Market. In addition, those who commute by train appreciate that the Metra trains at Union Station or the CTA Blue Line are nearby.

Moreover, for those who drive, from the building’s garage it’s super easy to jump on 290 or 90/94 from here. A commuters dream! Plus, after work its just steps to a myriad of fantastic restaurants, shopping and entertainment. And with Whole Foods located on the ground floor and Mariano’s a block south, grocery shopping could not be easier.

In addition, those with children will appreciate the proximity to Mary Bartelme Park and that the building is located within the acclaimed Skinner West School district.
